Axis, LHV and Fresno aligned on medical care for the elderly

In order for the future that everyone can continue to provide the necessary care and treatment specialists must geriatric medicine and social geriatricians are paid through the Health Insurance Act. Because the new law Long-Term Care (the successor to the EMEA) is introduced, and inpatient facilities for long-term care are reduced simultaneously, there will be more people with complex care needs to continue living at home. These people are entitled to special care and treatment they would receive.
Otherwise in the healthcare Specialists in geriatric medicine and social geriatricians can use their expertise to support the GP in that complex care and treatment at home, as they are already doing with limited funding from the EMEA. This view is shared by general practitioners (National Association of General Practitioners) and Axis.
With the new Long Term Care Act has become all the more urgent for the specialist in geriatric medicine, together with the doctor can go in the first line. The doctor continues to direct matters in the first line. However, elderly patients with complex diseases have specialist elderly medical care in addition to regular medical care practitioners. According to the LHV this group should be able to rely on the specific expertise of specialist geriatric medicine and social geriatrician. These are the appointed doctors to provide this care. Social geriatricians working for years ambulatory and thus support the mental health and general practitioners in psycho geriatric issues.
